Spring is coming... but is your home ready?

Spring is finally peeking its head out, but just because the calendar says so doesn't mean the weather agrees! Between freezing gusts and surprise showers, we swap our winter coat for a light jacket... only to pull it back out three hours later.

But while Mother Nature hesitates, your home can definitely get ready to welcome the warmer days. Here are a few tips for a smooth (and effective) transition into spring!

Time for Spring Cleaning... in Moderation

Spring means spring cleaning! But before you dive into a cleaning marathon worthy of a reality TV show, start with the essentials:

  • Open the windows to let in fresh air (even if it means shivering a little — it's for a good cause).
  • Dust surfaces and clean the windows to better enjoy those first rays of sunshine.
  • Sort and organize: set aside what clutters your space and give a second life to items you no longer use.

Say Goodbye to Winter's Remnants

Salt-covered boots, lonely gloves, and scarves bundled up in the entrance? It's time to put them away! But be careful, spring often carries some leftover winter chills. Keep a light jacket and a few accessories within reach... you never know with Quebec weather!

Get Your Outdoor Space Ready for Warmer Days

Even if your backyard still looks like the end of winter, a few simple actions will help you anticipate spring's arrival:

  • Pick up accumulated debris (branches, dead leaves, etc.).
  • Check the condition of your garden furniture and clean it to be ready as soon as the sun shows up.
  • Inspect the roof, gutters, and foundation to ensure winter hasn't left any unwanted souvenirs.

Refresh Your Interior Decor

No need for an extreme makeover, but a few spring touches always do the trick!

  • Swap out pillows for lighter, more colorful shades.
  • Choose lighter curtains to maximize brightness.
  • Add plants or a bouquet of fresh flowers to bring a breath of fresh air.
